Where can I find a cheap, good used car?

I have 300 hundred dollars to put down. I need a buy here pay here place to sell me a car with the money down and a official letter of a job offer. Thats all I have.
Where can I find a cheap, good used car?
At the used car place..

And you're getting no where with only 300 dollars, unless you're going to buy a bush car.
Where can I find a cheap, good used car?

Reply:You will not get a cheap, good used car at a "buy here pay here" place. You will get bent over and ****** hard. That is what those places do. A sign saying "buy here pay here" is a virtual assurance of barely-legal pseudo-scams being pulled.

Craigslist is your friend. Exclude dealers from your search, and waste even less time.

(Of course, in that case you will need to have all the cash available immediately.)
Reply:Just go to car dealerships that sell used cars.

That's where I got my last car. It was a program car and I got a pretty good deal on it.

Reply:As other people have stated Craigslist is a great site for a car.

Reply:I got mine from "AutoTrader" for $1500...but ignore the ads by car dealers..go straight to the "private seller" one's..cause they are just people trying to sell their car and make some money...so they are usually honest....Good Luck..
Reply:I suggest you seek someone willing to counter sign a loan so that a lending institution would consider you.

Once you have that, you may wish to consult:

http://www.autobytel.com/index.cfm in order to locate a suitable vehicle at a suitable price.

You may also wish to consider someone you trust who has a vehicle they would sell you given the terms you offer as a personal contract...a member of your extended family?

A job offer is not a job (yet) for which you will be able to show a history of employment suitable to ensure your ability to make payments.
Reply:Ask some of your family members, aunts, uncles that you trust. Their experience and network of friends might pay off with a really good deal with less chance of being scammed.

Reply:$300 is not really going to get anything good at all execpt maybe a scooter or old motorcycle? You should get a job, and either car pool or take public transport while you save up at least $1000 before you go looking for a car. Think of insurance and gas money costs too.
