I'm looking for a vehicle that can comfortably hold 6 people, 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 9 with 3 of them in car seats that gets 25 MPG or better that has space available for a weeks worth of groceries. The vehicle needs to have good safety ratings and must be durable and easy to repair. A vehicle that runs on alternate fuels such as ethanol is desired, but not required.
I've looked at Minivans and SUVs, unfortunately, I haven't found any that meets the criteria listed above.
Is anybody aware of a vehicle for sale in the United States that meets these requirements?

You can always go with the mini-van. My favorites are the Nissan Quest and the Honda Odyssey, my parents had them both.
I currently drive a Toyota 4-Runner, probably the most reliable car on the road. A little worse gas mileage, but you'll never have a problem with it. Best of luck!
Reply:My wife has a Town %26amp; Country (Chrysler) extremely nice gets about 27 MPG and can run on E85. Good for a family. 5 star crash test rating!!
Reply:Well, My taurus seats 6 but only gets 16 in town...
MY "K"-car seats 6 but was made in 1986, but it does get almost 25 in town.
Old mercedes Diesels seat 6 if you get 2 bench seats, get 30mpg in town because it`s a diesel, no computers, no tune-ups, and still meet safety standards..Wagons seat 7.
Diesels need no tune-ups, only filter and oil changes, so simple to work on really (I work on them)

Theres the Diesel Vanagon, 45mpg, seats more than 6, plus lots of cargo, and the engine lasts 500,000 miles, but slow!
