Hilux. In my country the Hilux is priced in line with the much more toned down Nissan Hardbody, with which it competes.
The Nissan Nivara is much more expensive, but resembles the Hilux in looks and features. The Toyota is therefore much better value for money, when compared to the Nivara. It is also surprisingly light on fuel, has a name for reliability, affordable maintenance etc.
I'm not talking about looks, inside and out, as those are subjective, allthough personally I don't think they Hilux does too bad in this department either. I like the Nivara, but I'd go for the Hilux as the sensible choice. Sorry, I don't know anything about the Holden Rodeo, can't help you there.
I would consider the new Ford Ranger (if it has the same name in your country) as not being a bad choice either. It also depends what type of engine you like (petrol / diesel). Toyota's 3.0 D4D Diesel is superb, and a completely new advanced and efficient engine. The Ford engine is also excellent. Nissan's 3l diesel has had some problems, but their petrol (or gasoline, or whatever you call it) is great though. But for that matter, so is the Toyota 2.7 VVTI.
Which is Best? Toyota Hilux, Nissan Nivara or Holden Rodeo? The newer models that is.?
it depends if your talking about four wheel drive or 2 wheel drive! in the four wheel drive i would go for the toyota hulux because of their good reputation and they hold their price better than the nissan navara and holden rodeo i would steer away from nissan tho holden do make good cars as we all know but as a trade man for a ute the hulux. in two wheel drive i would go for the hulux or the nissan navara im just not a fan of the holden rodeo in the two wheel drive. also if your thinking deisiel go for the toyota or the nissan!!! they are both making good deisiel engines but i still prefer the toyota!!!!!

The Hilux or the Rodeo are the better vehicles by a long shot.
The V6 petrol Navara isn't too bad a truck but steer clear of the diesel model as the engines are total rubbish and have a lot of turbo lag, also the build quality is a little wanting....Well they do have Renault diesels and are built in Spain of all places.Petrol ones are still built in Japan and all nissan (i.e nice strong engine)
