I want to buy a jeep for that the guy is asking $8,000 for. it definitely is worth 8000 plus but the bank will only loan me 6800 for it. i have enough money for 8 but i don't want to loose out in the long run. how should i go about trying to get less money? I have thought about telling him about the banks worth and then say i will give him 300 dollars as well. so total is 7100?
What would you say to get less or do??

The bank did NOT say it was worth that amount, they said that is the amount they will loan on it, totally different thing.
$8,000 vehicle, you pay 15% down, or $1,200 and the balance is...$6.800, just what the bank will loan.
If you offer him $7,100 for an $8,000 car, you won't get a car, simple as that.
