I wouldn't spend more than $11,000 on it unless it has had every required service (esp the 100k one). Generally the 540's are less reliable and break down alot more than the other 5 series.

Reply:5-series cars depreciate like crazy. 1999 5-series can be purchased cheaper than 3-series.





But be prepared to spend some serious money on repairs, maintenance, and general nuisances. Reliability is poor. The car is over engineered.
